Maya and yourself!Fitness have been touching lives everywhere. Here are three inspirational stories of how making a commitment to yourself! can be rewarding in many ways.

Because I never thought I would actually find a workout that I look forward to and enjoy. As a past veteran of aerobic tapes, after using them even two or three times, I found that I was bored with the repetition. Maya challenges me and gives me something new to look forward to every day. I have a long way to go before I meet my fitness goals, but I'm actually enjoying the journey there for the first time.

I've been raving about Maya to anyone who will listen; three of my co-workers are buying the Xbox version for themselves. Maya certainly fills a void in home workout equipment.

Thank you for the inspiration!

My boyfriend got me the game after I saw it in a store and at first I was a little unsure about it. I'm not a big..work-out-to-your-tv fan. I have only one DVD (pilates) that I'll do and it's only because I have taken pilates classes and then had to stop due to a time conflict.

But, I figured he spent $35 and I had better give it a shot at least. After the first workout I was totally hooked. Then I was reading through the book that came with it and found this website. I was thrilled to see a message board where I could talk to others who were also working out with Maya! I have to say that this is really a brilliant idea and I hope this is only the first of many versions to come!

Also, oddly enough I really do feel like I'm playing a game. I mean I get to unlock workout areas just like in other video games and I can interact with it, etc. I don't even feel like I've started another one of my workout kicks but rather that I'm just having a great time playing a really cool game and getting in shape too! Also, this may be silly, but one thing that motivates me to try and finish the session is that little question I get to answer "How was that?" That way I know that if it was really too hard that I can say "dear god please don't do that to me again" or I can say "it was great" etc. Once I've gone through a set that I really felt was too difficult sometimes I change my mind and tell Maya it was challenging but not too hard. This game is nothing like static workout videos!!

The last thing is thank you to the yourselffitness team for not making Maya a 6' supermodel like some of the workout videos seem to do!

I've only worked out a couple of times but I think this is it. (ok I know I've said that before but really!)

Bravo! Thank you!!!

okay, I didn't think that this program was going to be a challenge for me at all. when I did the evaluation, I could do more than the maximum in all of the tests (except the flexibility!) and had seen the worst. my brother played college football with the Strength and Conditioning Coach at Miami and ran me through the gauntlet, and I've even trained with an Olympic Decathlete and a pro football player. to keep fit, I play rugby for the area team. so, as I start the workout, I'm thinking "this is going to be an absolute piece of cake."

...but halfway through the first workout, I'm thinking "AAAAAHHHH!!! somebody stop this crazy thing!" talk about tough. it was my fault because I kept goading Maya, telling her that the workout wasn't tough enough. I had done those type of exercises, but not for extended periods of time. by the last break, I was holding my shorts and sucking air... and then she told me to pick up the hand weights again.

I'm proud to say that I finished it, and can't wait for this afternoon when the second one starts. what a great idea for a game.
